If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I have no idea whether you think I am the most annoying person ever or not, (most people doo~) but I have no hard feelings towards you, and enjoy reading your replies! :)

Thank you so much~! :dummy:

No hard feelings, you are obviously trying to defend faith but I don't mind, it is a good intellectual exercise to talk to somebody intelligent from time to time ;)

I spend most of my time in philosophy class giving points to disprove Christianity, so defending it is definitely a change for me. xD
(There's a Christian girl in my class, and if you sat in on one of our lessons, you'd swear we hate each other with a passion. Our debates can get a little fierce! But we actually get on amazingly well. Haha. xD)

You are a very intelligent person, and come across as really nice too.
I always worry when getting into debates like these over the internet with a stranger that I'll be flammed or have someone hating on me loads. xDD Hehe~

Out of curiosity, are you completely atheist or do you hold some for of belief or something?
As for me, I'm a Neo-Pagan. :) I was a Christian as a child, but the rules and constraints bothered me, so did all the contradictions. One thing I have always believed in is nature. Though I am still discovering whether I truly believe in a God/dess or not, I found the celebration of the seasons made so much sense to me. :) This Thursday I will be celebrating Yule, the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. ^^ Gonna bake a Yule log~ >w<

I have a friend who is Pagan :) Nice belief system in my opinion, at least the nature bit and things like that.

I am not sure if I am an atheist, I mean I don't REALLY care if there is god. And I am a starting scientist so I try to find logical explanation in things. As to whether there is a higher being / beings, sure why not? I mean it would be a great coincidence if we were the most intelligent and powerful creatures in the Universe. However I just don't see why we should worship these creatures if they exist. I was also largely influenced by thinking of Zen and I meditate regularly. So I believe in the power of energy and thought and in possibility of some of the "supernatural" phenomena like telepathy or telekinesis (both scientifically explainable in my opinion), although I haven't experienced any yet, maybe apart from knowing relatively immediate future on a couple of occasions.

Sure, celebration of season makes sense, a human needs rest and a reason to drink and eat well! Enjoy the holidays! ;)
